This term means the transmission of ideas and inventions between engineering and living organisms and vice versa. In medicine we mean for example, artificial limbs; not those are used to compensate the place of the member, but the prosthetic member that can mimic the function of original member and perhaps surpass it.
It includes other inventions such as sonar and radar which uses ultrasound, although that technology is still in its infancy, it has made an exceptional achievements so far.
